Video of Madanji singing as he composes "Kadar Jaane Na", while Begum Akhtar praises his composition
8 April 2011
KADAR JAANE NA, the well known song from BHAI BHAI (1956), was a favorite of the late Begum Akhtar.
Here we hear her voice as she recounts her impression of the song when she first heard it on the radio. We can also hear a rare snippet of Madanji singing the mukhda as he composed it, probably in 1955.
The song was finally recorded in Lataji's voice, and was much appreciated by listeners.
Begum Akhtar was much revered by Madanji and they shared a musical bond. Praise from her was very gratifying for him. She, too, held him in high esteem as long as she lived.
Madanji was the chief guest at her first death anniversary event in Lucknow, and himself passed away a few months later
