It was heartening to come across this link where a foreign string quartet has chosen one of Madanji’s melodies among a select few ‘Bollywood’ songs to give their own interpretation This melody, used in Veer-Zaara, was one of the rejected and hence unused tunes when Madanji was composing for MAUSAM in 1974/75. He finally recorded the sad version of the song ‘Dil Dhoondta Hai’ in a different tune, which was also appreciated by music lovers. This unused tune was found accidentally on his tapes after his demise and used 30 years later in Veer-Zaara.
