The first unreleased song we are launching on the website in its full form is “Mere dilse aake lipat gayi”. This song, though never released on film soundtrack or filmed, was shared with fans by us from Madanji's master spools on the 5 CD set Legends Madan Mohan (released in July 2000), so some of you may have heard it on that album.

This romantic duet by Rafi Sahib and Ashaji was originally recorded in 1965 for the film NEELA AAKASH (which also had the popular duet “Aapko pyar chhupane ki”). Reportedly, the makers felt they needed a lighter duet, lyrically and musically, and thus this song was rejected after being recorded and a new duet was recorded which also became a big hit... “Tere paas aake mera waqt guzar jaata hai”. Rafi Sahib and Ashaji sang all the 3 duets, and all were penned by Raja Mehdi Ali Khan.
