Various Tribute Events in July for Madanji's 37th Death Anniversary

14th JULY 2012 marks the 37th death anniversary of Madan Mohanji.
His fans and admirers continue to commemorate the event with various tribute events which include concerts, exhibitions, seminars, and musical getogethers.
In June, on the occasion of his birth anniversary too, various packed events were held in Mumbai and other cities.
Below are some of the events happening in July... these are the few that we have been informed of, while many others are also held whose details we do not easily get to be able to share with you.
8 JULY
AAJ SOCHA TO AANSOO BHAR AAYE… A MUSICAL TRIBUTE IN MUMBAI
SANKET will present an evening of MADANJI melodies, AAJ SOCHA TO AANSOO BHAR AAYE on Sat 8 July 2012, 7pm at Bhuriben Golwala Auditorium, Ghatkopar West in Mumbai.
Mr Rajni Mehta will present the event which will have Shailaja
Subramanian and Sarvesh Mishra as singers.

SUGAM SANGEET SPARDHA.. A GHAZAL COMPETITION BASED ON MADANJI'S SONGS IN PANVEL
The Panvel Cultural association is organizing, Sugam Sangeet Spardha, a ghazal singing competition based on Madanji's songs on 14th July at 9 am at their auditorium in Panvel. They have beeen inviting select entries for last few weeks and will give attractive cash prizes to the winners.

FLUTE RECITAL OF MADANJI MELODIES BY SALIL DATEY IN INDORE
Noted Flautist, SALIL DATEY, will present a recital of Madanji's melodies on 14 July in Indore. He has arranged similar shows dedicated to Madanji's melodies in earlier years too.

HUMRAHI presents NAINON MEIN BADRA CHHAYE in PUNE
Humrahi, an ardent music fan group, is doing a show Nainon Mein Badra chhaye on Madanji, on 14th July 2012 at Yeshwantrao Chavan Auditorium Pune at 9.30 pm.
This show was first started in the year 2000 and has become a brand in itself, thanks to the continued patronage of the music compositions of Madanji.
The concert will have music arrangements by Avinash Chandrachud, while Pramod Ranade, Hrishikesh Ranade, Vibhavri Apte and Madhura Datar will regale with their renditions.

SURASHREE presents THE MUSICAL AND MAGICAL MADAN MOHAN, in MUMBAI
SURASHREE, a well known musical organization, is paying tribute to Madanji on 14 July with an event, THE MUSICAL AND MAGICAL MADAN MOHAN.
The event will feature an audio visual presentation of Madanji's melodies including some rare songs and clips from films which are not seen so often.. It will cover Madanji's repertoire over his 25 year career, and feature all the immortal songs, still loved by his fans.
This delightful experience will be held at the P. L. Deshpande Hall, Lokmanya Sewa Sangh,in Vile Parle East.

EXHIBITION OF MADANJI PHOTOS BY SHRINIVAS PUJARI IN INDORE
Shriniwas Pujari (Collector of Lataji & Madan Mohanji Photographs ) is organising an exibition on Madanji's 150 Photographs at JAL Sabha Grah, INDORE on 15th of July at 6.30 pm in a tie-up with "Swarda" group !
Well known singer of Indore, Sapna Bhate will perform Madanji's Compositions on that day.

SWAR VIKAS PRESENTS RARE GEMS - MADAN MOHAN, AN EVENT IN SURAT
Vikas Bhatwadekar and his team of Swar Vikas present an evening of rare melodies of Madanji.. RARE GEMS - MADAN MOHAN at the Rang Bhavan Hall of the Jeevan Bharati School in Surat on 15 July.
